Mr. Shafaat Ali, Member Health and P&D Board, chaired a Pre-PDWP meeting to review two major health sector proposals: the construction of Narowal Medical College and the establishment of a Children Hospital in Rawalpindi. The session focused on project details, timelines and the expected impact on provincial services.

The chair engaged in a thorough discussion of both schemes, underlining how the Narowal Medical College would expand medical education capacity in Punjab while the Children Hospital Rawalpindi project aims to provide dedicated pediatric care for the region. Emphasis was placed on practical measures to ensure timely implementation and alignment with health service needs across the province.

Representatives from the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department participated in the review, and updates from the Chief Minister Punjab’s office and Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb were referenced during the meeting. Technical and financial aspects were scrutinized to prepare the proposals for the next PDWP stage.

The review led by Shafaat Ali highlighted the broader objective of strengthening Punjab’s healthcare infrastructure.
