Ambassador-designate Shafqat Ali Khan meets DPM Ishaq Dar, urged to deepen Pak UAE ties and prioritise welfare of the Pakistani diaspora.

Shafqat Ali Khan paid a farewell call on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad as he prepares to assume his post as Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.

The DPM and Foreign Minister commended Shafqat Ali Khan for his work as Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighting his role in effectively articulating Pakistan’s foreign policy narrative to domestic and international audiences.

Senator Ishaq Dar stressed the deep and fraternal ties between Pakistan and the UAE and urged the ambassador-designate to draw on his experience to further strengthen this vital bilateral relationship. Emphasis was placed on leveraging diplomatic channels to enhance cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries.

In addition to broadening state-to-state ties, the minister instructed the ambassador-designate to prioritise the welfare of the large Pakistani diaspora in the UAE, reaffirming the government’s commitment to consular support and community well being.

The meeting set clear priorities for the upcoming mission in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, with a focus on consolidating Pak UAE relations and ensuring sustained care for Pakistani nationals abroad.
