Shaheryar Memon Appointed to Boost Youth Opportunities

Shaheryar Memon has been appointed Focal Person for Overseas and Business Affairs in the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, a role intended to expand technical training, foster innovation in the IT sector, and create international opportunities for Pakistani youth. Senior youth coordinators and officials welcomed the appointment and outlined plans to send young people abroad for advanced skills training and to strengthen global links that will help them contribute to national development.

The appointment was made under the directive of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif as part of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, PMYP. In a detailed meeting following the announcement, participants discussed priorities including technical and vocational training, innovation in information technology, and mechanisms to create overseas training and employment opportunities.

Shaheryar Memon said he was honored to take on a role close to his heart and pledged to commit his experience and international networks to support youth development. He said that, God willing, young Pakistanis will soon be sent abroad for training in advanced technologies so they can better contribute to the country’s progress. He also committed to establishing strong coordination with government institutions, diplomatic missions, and international organizations to connect Pakistani youth with global opportunities.

Coordinators and representatives from the Youth Ministry, including Arshad Gill, Dr. Hazbullah Khan, Abid Shah, and Sardar Hamza Abbasi, extended their congratulations and expressed confidence in the new appointment. They described the move as a progressive step that aligns with broader efforts to empower young people and prepare them for the global marketplace.

Participants also praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s focus on youth empowerment and acknowledged the support of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir for youth development and nation-building. Attendees said the initiative will not only enable youth to acquire high-value skills but also showcase Pakistani talent internationally.
