SHARP CEO Mudassar Javed recently participated in a comprehensive MHPSS training and leadership workshop organized by GIZ Pakistan under the Social Support for Vulnerable Afghan Refugees and Host Community (SSARC) project. The session focused on strengthening leadership capacity and enhancing MHPSS expertise to better support those facing emotional and psychological challenges.
Participants explored practical approaches to identify and respond to mental health and psychosocial needs among vulnerable individuals, with an emphasis on delivering sensitive, community-based support. The programme aimed to equip leaders with tools to coordinate protection services and to apply MHPSS principles in diverse field settings.
Mr Mudassar Javed’s attendance highlights SHARP’s ongoing commitment to advancing protection services and promoting mental well-being. Through this MHPSS training, SHARP is reinforcing its capacity to ensure Afghan refugees and host community members can access essential psychosocial support in a compassionate and inclusive environment.
The collaboration under the SSARC project with GIZ Pakistan reinforces local institutional skills and aligns with efforts across Pakistan to address the growing need for mental health and psychosocial support among displaced and host populations.
