In New York on 25 September 2025 Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a bilateral meeting with Chief Adviser of Bangladesh Prof. Muhammad Yunus on the sidelines of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. The Shehbaz Yunus meeting provided an opportunity for the two to exchange views on matters of mutual interest and to discuss ways to enhance bilateral engagement.
During the Shehbaz Yunus meeting both sides emphasised the value of sustained dialogue between Pakistan and Bangladesh at international forums and explored avenues for closer cooperation. Representatives from each delegation used the encounter to reinforce communication channels and consider collaborative initiatives between the two countries.
Taking place amid UNGA80 in New York the meeting highlighted Islamabad’s active diplomatic engagement and could pave the way for further official contacts. The dialogue underlined the continued importance of high-level exchanges in strengthening regional relations.
