The Sindh government is providing more than two million families with environmentally friendly, permanent homes along with ownership rights under the Sindh Peoples Housing for Flood Affectees initiative, following the devastating floods of 2022. As part of this effort, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, visited the village of New Tharho Wadho in Taluka Meharokhan to inspect the newly constructed homes built for flood-affected residents.
The Sindh Peoples Housing program aims to support families who lost their homes during the 2022 floods by offering them durable housing solutions that are also eco-friendly. This large-scale project not only ensures safe shelter but also empowers recipients by granting them full ownership rights to their new homes.
During his visit, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reviewed the construction quality and met with local families who benefited from the scheme, reaffirming the government’s commitment to rehabilitation and long-term welfare of the flood-affected population. The initiative is seen as a significant step in helping Sindh’s communities rebuild their lives with dignity and security.
