The three-day SMART Advocacy Workshop brought together passionate advocates to sharpen their skills and align goals with measurable outcomes. Jointly organised by the UNFPA Regional Office and the Family Planning 2030 Regional Hub, the event focused on building clear, country-specific plans that can drive change.
Participants worked to formulate SMART Advocacy objectives that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound, and to design advocacy strategies tailored to national contexts. The workshop emphasised practical approaches to advocacy so that plans move beyond concept to tangible action.
Organisers said these steps are essential to turning the 2030 commitments into real improvements in health and opportunity. Investing in people means investing in progress, and the outcomes of the workshop aim to ensure healthier futures and brighter opportunities for all.
By equipping advocates with targeted strategies and shared tools, the workshop sought to strengthen regional collaboration and support the translation of SMART Advocacy objectives into on-the-ground initiatives at the country level.
