S&P Global welcomed Bahria University students in Islamabad, offering geoscience career insights and on-site interviews to strengthen academia-industry links.

Dr. Urooj Shakir and Mr. Masood Anwar accompanied seventh-semester Environmental Sciences and Geophysics students from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences on a visit to S&P Global in Islamabad. The delegation engaged with company representatives to learn about day-to-day operations and how global data and analysis support decision-making in geoscience and related fields.

During the visit, S&P Global staff introduced students to the organisation’s core functions and the technical roles available within its Islamabad office. Presentations focused on practical applications of environmental data, risk assessment and how geophysical expertise feeds into broader analytical teams, allowing students to connect their academic studies with industry practice.

At the end of the programme, S&P Global conducted interviews with several students to assess future hiring prospects, giving candidates direct access to potential employers. The interaction offered valuable feedback on skill expectations and career pathways in geoscience, helping students refine their professional goals.
