The three-day urs of Hazrat Kalo Baba Sarkar at Mansar Sharif in Attock featured a high-profile spear competition that drew around 400 horse and rider teams from across the region. The event celebrated local equestrian traditions and attracted strong participation over intense matchups held during the festivities.
Jutt Badshah Club Tharjial Kalan Gujjar Khan emerged as the champion, taking first place in the spear competition, while Shan Ali Ghazi Club Rawalpindi secured second place and Mohammadiyya Haidariyya Husseiniyya Naqvi Al-Bukhari Club of Pakistan finished third. The contests showcased skilled horsemanship and disciplined lance handling throughout the competition.
The winning team was awarded four Umrah tickets and trophies, the runners-up received PKR 200,000 and trophies, and the third-placed team took home PKR 100,000 along with trophies. These prizes underscored the cultural and sporting importance of the spear competition at the urs.
The matches were organized under the supervision of conveners Shahid Mushtaq Dar, Alhaj Qaiser Mehmood and Syed Arsalan Haider Shah, with judging by Syed Nasir Iftikhar Shah and DSP Chaudhry Tahir Abbas. Organizers said the strong turnout reinforced Mansar Sharif’s reputation as a centre for traditional equestrian events and encouraged continued community involvement in such cultural competitions.
