A leading cardiologist in Pakistan has urged everyone aged 40 and above to keep a ready heart safety kit at home, in the office, in the car or in a coat or handbag as heart attack rates rise among younger people. The specialist warned that recognising early signs and acting immediately can be critical while arranging transport to hospital.

The doctor described typical symptoms to watch for: a sudden tightness or sharp pain in the centre of the chest that may spread to the left arm or neck, profuse sweating, a pale or yellowish complexion, difficulty breathing, or a sensation as if someone is sitting on the chest accompanied by intense anxiety. If these signs appear, rapid first aid is essential.

As an immediate response the specialist recommended that the affected person should chew and swallow one Disprin tablet without delay, place one Angised tablet under the tongue to dissolve, and apply a Deponid NTF5 skin patch on the left side of the chest inside the shirt. Together these items form a simple Heart safety kit that can be assembled at minimal cost; the doctor said the total expense is around fifty to fifty-five rupees.

Carrying a Heart safety kit in accessible places and taking the described first aid steps can help stabilise a patient and reduce the risk of dying before reaching hospital. The cardiologist advised that every person over 40 prepare this kit and keep it ready for emergencies. May Allah grant health and safety to all, Ameen.
