Sports Gala Unites Pothohar Private Schools

Sports Gala showcased athletic excellence across Pothohar as APPSCA and partners organised a major interschool event with over 50 schools competing.

In Rawalpindi the importance of physical development through sports was underscored as private educational institutions took centre stage in a large Sports Gala organised by the All Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association (APPSCA) Pothohar in collaboration with Brenden Fu Sports Federation at Allied School Chakri Road.

APPSCA central president Dr Malik Abrar Hussain praised Pothohar Tan’s consistent frontline role and commended the leadership of Irfan Muzafar Kiani, president Rawalpindi Division, for numerous accomplishments in the division. He said the event underlined schools’ commitment to both curricular and extracurricular development and expressed pride in his colleagues.

The gathering included CEO Education Rawalpindi Tariq Mehmood, member Cantonment Board Haji Zafar Iqbal, divisional president Irfan Muzafar Kiani, general secretary Muhammad Ibrahim, district president Malik Hafeez-ur-Rehman, finance secretary Chaudhry Iftikhar, Pothohar Tan president Sardar Figar Niazi, general secretary Muhammad Asif, Imran Ali Darani, cantonment general secretary Zafar Mehmood, Brenden Fu Sports Federation head Tahir Farhad, Ahmed sahib, Professor Wasim Naseer Kiani and a large number of principals, teachers and students. Haji Zafar Iqbal congratulated the organisers and participating institutions and especially lauded the leadership of Irfan Muzafar Kiani and Sardar Figar Niazi for staging a successful programme.

More than fifty schools participated in competitions that tested athletic skill and team spirit. Real Science School secured first position, Allied School Chakri Road finished second and Nobel Shining took third place. The Sports Gala provided young athletes an important platform to develop physically and to represent their schools with pride.

Organisers said the Sports Gala is part of continued efforts to promote physical education across private schools in the Pothohar region and to complement formal education with meaningful extracurricular activities that support students’ overall development.
