A delegation of 40 members from the Sindh Parliamentary Reporters Association visited the Parliament House in Islamabad, where they toured key sections of the institution and engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening parliamentary journalism.
During their visit, the delegation explored various areas of Parliament House, including the Senate Hall, Senate Museum, Constitution Avenue, and the media lobby. Upon their arrival at the media lobby, they received a warm welcome from Zafar Sultan, Director General of Media at the National Assembly, Asadullah Khan, Director of Media at the Senate Secretariat, Osmaan Khan, President of the Parliamentary Reporters Association (PRA) Pakistan, and Naveed Akbar, its Secretary General.
The officials briefed the guests in detail about the functioning of both houses of Parliament, the procedures for media coverage, and the established principles of parliamentary reporting. The interactions highlighted the importance of strong professional standards for journalists reporting on legislative affairs.
Representatives from the visiting delegation emphasized the need for an integrated approach among PRA members from all regions. They recommended that when any unit faces challenges, all journalistic organizations collaborate closely to find effective solutions.
Both Asadullah Khan and Zafar Sultan assured the delegation of ongoing support for journalists from Sindh and stressed that such engagement and dialogue are crucial for the advancement of parliamentary journalism in Pakistan.
