The Standing Committee on Information Technology & Telecommunication met in the Constitution Room of Parliament House in Islamabad on 19 January 2026 under the chairmanship of Syed Amin ul Haq to consider the Pakistan Telecommunication Re-organization (Amendment) Bill, 2026. The meeting began at 12:00 noon and the committee examined the Bill in detail, assessing its legal and institutional implications for the sector and the wider digital ecosystem.

Deliberations emphasised transparent stakeholder engagement and thorough parliamentary scrutiny as essential steps in advancing the Telecom Reorganization process while safeguarding service delivery and regulatory clarity.
