Dr. Bushra Parveen from the Department of Physics has participated in an advanced technical training program aimed at enhancing STEM education through project-based learning. The week-long initiative took place at several prominent UK institutions, including the National STEM Learning Centre at the University of York, the University of Birmingham, and King’s College London.
The training was conducted using a “train-the-trainer” approach, enabling participants like Dr. Parveen to share the skills and knowledge gained with their colleagues and students back home. The program covered a wide range of topics vital to modern STEM education, such as innovative teaching methods, the integration of real-world and industry-based experiences into the curriculum, and best practices for designing effective assessments and rubrics.
Additionally, participants explored strategies for developing professional communities of practice and establishing strong STEM ambassador networks. These efforts aim to foster greater collaboration among educators, encourage knowledge sharing, and inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
Dr. Parveen’s involvement in this international training underscores her commitment to bringing cutting-edge STEM teaching practices to her institution and supporting the advancement of science education in her community.
