Representatives from Sui Northern Gas met with stakeholders at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) to discuss solutions for the persistent gas shortage, low pressure, and service concerns affecting the region’s business and domestic consumers. During the meeting, several new initiatives were announced, including the establishment of a dedicated help desk at RCCI and the launch of major infrastructure projects.

The Sui Northern Gas delegation, led by Deputy Managing Director (Operations) Saqib Arbab and accompanied by senior officials including Deputy Managing Director (Services) Faisal Iqbal, Senior General Manager (Distribution-North) Taj Ali Khan, and General Manager Rawalpindi Masam Ibrar, engaged in comprehensive discussions with RCCI Acting President Khalid Farooq Qazi, Group Leader Sohail Altaf, Vice President Fahad Barlas, and other chamber leaders and trade representatives.

Addressing the gathering, Sui Northern Gas officials outlined ongoing and upcoming projects designed to tackle long-standing issues of gas supply. A key initiative includes the overhaul of aging gas pipelines to mitigate problems such as leakages, faulty EVS meters, and overbilling, as well as to improve overall service reliability for both commercial and domestic consumers.

To strengthen support for the business community, officials announced the imminent establishment of a help desk at the RCCI premises. This dedicated facility aims to streamline the process for new gas connections and address service queries more efficiently. The Sui Northern Gas team also revealed plans to visit the Rawat Industrial Estate to conduct a detailed survey and consider setting up a similar help desk to further assist industrial consumers.

In an effort to promote transparency and resolve consumer issues proactively, Sui Northern Gas committed to holding regular awareness sessions. These events will provide guidance and information to consumers, improving communication and addressing frequent concerns.

During the interactive session, RCCI members raised several pressing issues, including persistent low gas pressure, delays in industrial connections, and service inefficiencies. Sui Northern Gas officials assured participants of prompt action on these matters, emphasizing their commitment to ongoing engagement with stakeholders and strengthened coordination with the business sector.

The collaboration was attended by senior RCCI figures, reflecting a concerted push by both the gas utility and business community to address operational challenges and foster a more reliable energy supply in the Rawalpindi region.
