The Sustainable Textile Platform held its first matchmaking event in Karachi where nine cutting-edge Swedish and Nordic greentech solution providers met with local suppliers working with global brands such as IKEA and H&M.

The B2B sessions focused on forging collaborations to accelerate the green transition of Pakistan’s textile sector, with practical discussions on renewable energy, energy efficiency and water treatment to tackle pressing operational challenges.

Participants explored how Swedish innovation in greentech can be adapted to local supply chains, helping Pakistani manufacturers improve competitiveness while meeting international sustainability requirements.

The event was organised as part of the Sustainable Textile Platform initiative by the Embassy of Sweden in Islamabad and Business Sweden, creating new opportunities for collaboration and innovation to support a greener, more competitive textile industry in Pakistan.

A warm thank you was extended to all attendees whose engagement made this milestone possible as the Sustainable Textile Platform continues to link international solutions with local needs.
