The Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Forests, Environment, Wildlife, and Climate Change, Pir Musawir Khan, has strongly condemned the attack on Forest Guard Azizul Haq in the Kalam region of Swat. The incident occurred when Haq attempted to stop the illegal felling of trees by members of the so-called timber mafia.

Pir Musawir Khan directed the relevant authorities to immediately register a case against those involved in the attack and to arrest the perpetrators without delay. He expressed his best wishes for the swift recovery of the injured forest guard and instructed officials to ensure Azizul Haq receives the highest standard of medical care during his hospital treatment. The special assistant praised Haq for his courageous service in protecting the forests, describing such officials as invaluable assets to the department.

Khan also issued strict instructions to the Department of Forests, urging officers to take indiscriminate and decisive action against those who harm forests and the environment to ensure such criminal elements are fully eliminated. Following his directive, the Chief Conservator of Forests for Malakand Region Three, Muhammad Asghar, visited the hospital to inquire about the forest guard’s condition.

Authorities have already taken legal action by initiating proceedings against three suspects linked to the attack on the forest guard.
