Sweden has announced the reopening of its visa services in Islamabad, a significant move aimed at facilitating Pakistani nationals seeking short-term visits to Sweden. This development follows productive bilateral political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of Pakistan and Sweden, recently held in Stockholm.
According to an official statement, Pakistani citizens will be able to directly apply for Schengen visas from within Pakistan, enabling visits to Sweden of up to 90 days. This streamlined process is set to improve accessibility and convenience for travelers, benefiting tourism, business exchanges, and personal visits between the two countries.
The Pakistani government has warmly welcomed Sweden’s decision, recognizing it as an important milestone that underscores the growing strength and cooperation in the bilateral relations shared between the two nations.
These constructive outcomes emerged after bilateral political consultations hosted by Sweden in Stockholm. The Pakistani delegation participating in these consultations was headed by the Additional Foreign Secretary responsible for European affairs. Sweden’s delegation was led by the Director General for Global Affairs from the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
