**Balochistan Launches First Virtual Teacher Training Academy with Support from UNICEF and EU**

Balochistan has taken a significant step to improve the quality of education by launching its first Virtual Academy for Teacher Training (VATT). The initiative, backed by UNICEF and funded by the European Union, aims to provide ongoing, digital training and professional development for teachers across the province.

The Virtual Academy for Teacher Training was officially inaugurated by Education Minister Raheela Durrani. Operating under the Provincial Institute for Teacher Education (PITE), the VATT marks a major milestone for the region’s education sector. The initiative is part of the UNICEF-supported Basic Education Support II Programme, which seeks to strengthen the quality and reach of basic education in Balochistan.

Through this virtual platform, teachers will have access to continuous, career-focused training designed to enhance their skills and teaching methodologies. The academy is expected to bridge gaps in access to professional development, particularly for educators in remote and underserved communities. By harnessing digital tools and online resources, the VATT will facilitate improved teaching standards, ultimately benefitting students throughout the province.

Officials hope that the Virtual Academy will play a vital role in ensuring that every child in Balochistan receives quality teaching and learning opportunities, laying the foundation for a stronger education system in the region. The Directorate of Education Schools Balochistan will oversee the implementation and operation of the VATT.
