On October 22, 2025, Nurlan Ermekbayev, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, delivered a video greeting to participants of a round table in Dushanbe focused on the results of the Tianjin Summit and the SCO as a platform for joint development and global governance.
The meeting took place at the SCO Center for Friendship and Cooperation in Tajikistan and was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Tajikistan and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Dushanbe. The round table brought together ambassadors accredited in Tajikistan, representatives of observer and partner states, experts and political scientists for in-depth discussion.
In his remarks, the Secretary-General stressed that the key indicator of the Tianjin Summit was its performance, and participants were presented with the summit’s main outcomes as reflected in top documents, including the Tianjin Declaration of the Council of Heads of State and the Development Strategy of the SCO until 2035. The Tianjin Summit was positioned as a milestone guiding the organisation’s cooperative agenda going forward.
Mr Ermekbayev praised Tajikistan’s constructive approach to fostering mutually beneficial cooperation and practical interaction within the SCO framework, and welcomed the active role of the SCO Center for Friendship and Cooperation in Tajikistan.
