TIKA Ramadan Aid delivers food packages to around 3,700 households across Pakistan, partnering with local welfare groups to support families this Ramadan.

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency rolled out a nationwide relief effort this Ramadan, delivering essential food packages to vulnerable families across Pakistan under the banner of TIKA Ramadan Aid. The campaign reached roughly 3,700 households, aiming to ease hunger and provide practical support during the holy month.

Coordinated with public institutions and civil society partners, the programme worked with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, the AJK Zakat Department, Ghazali Education Trust, Al Mustafa Welfare Society, the Shah Jahan Mosque Community and Idara Al Khair Welfare Society to reach communities in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Mardan, Muzaffarabad, Haveli Kahuta, Lahore, Multan, Hyderabad, Thatta and several districts of Karachi, as well as Lasbela and Hub (Uthal) in Balochistan.

A distribution ceremony in Islamabad on 25 February brought the initiative into sharper view when officials joined beneficiaries for the handover organised in cooperation with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal. The event was attended by H.E. Irfan Neziroğlu, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Pakistan, and Ms. Saliha Tuna, Programme Coordinator of TIKA Islamabad, who greeted families, exchanged Ramadan wishes and spent time speaking with mothers and children.

Local partners said the effort underscores a continued focus on community-level support, with TIKA Ramadan Aid designed to complement ongoing welfare work across provinces and build resilience for households facing hardship. Organisers emphasised that working through trusted local organisations helped ensure timely delivery and culturally sensitive engagement with recipients.

By sustaining this assistance, TIKA reaffirms its commitment to solidarity and people-to-people ties between Türkiye and Pakistan, with the programme reflecting the spirit of Ramadan through compassion, shared responsibility and practical relief that brings renewed hope to families in need.
