Traffic Headquarters Hosts Friends of Police Students

Students visit Traffic Headquarters under Friends of Police program to learn traffic education and support road safety in Rawalpindi.

Students and young interns visited the Traffic Headquarters in Rawalpindi as part of the Friends of Police and Youth Internship program initiated by Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar. The visit aimed to familiarise students with the daily operations and public services delivered by the traffic department.

Inspector Faisal Gilani, in charge of the Traffic Education Wing, guided the delegation through various branches of the headquarters and provided a detailed briefing on administrative functions, traffic education initiatives and the services available to citizens. Students inspected different units and observed how the traffic department coordinates enforcement, education and public assistance.

Participants praised the professionalism and the services provided by traffic police, noting the programme helped demystify police work and highlighted practical measures that keep roads safe. The Friends of Police initiative was presented as a platform to showcase positive policing efforts to the wider community.

Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam emphasised that the Friends of Police programme encourages everyone, especially students, to participate as interns and collaborators. He said the initiative seeks to build trust between police and citizens and to strengthen the relationship that is essential for road safety and efficient traffic flow.

The delegation was urged to play an active individual role in reducing accidents and ensuring uninterrupted traffic movement. Citizens are encouraged to join the Friends of Police programme to support traffic improvements and help promote greater cooperation between the public and police in Rawalpindi.
