The Embassy of Tunisia in Islamabad, in partnership with the Potohar Organization for Development and Advocacy (PODA), held a virtual panel discussion focusing on Tunisia’s efforts in promoting and protecting women’s rights. The event brought together activists, diplomats, and officials from both Tunisia and Pakistan to share experiences and strategies for advancing women’s rights.
The session, themed “From Achievement to Preservation: The Tunisian Women’s Rights Journey,” highlighted Tunisia’s pioneering progress in enhancing the status of women. Speakers presented an overview of landmark legislation and the mechanisms put in place by Tunisia to ensure the protection and advancement of women’s rights at all levels of society.
Participants from both countries engaged in an informative exchange of ideas, discussing best practices and collaborative approaches. The event served as a platform to explore how legal reforms and advocacy efforts can lead to meaningful change and empowerment for women, both in Tunisia and Pakistan. Organizers expressed hope that such cross-country exchanges would strengthen ongoing initiatives to protect and promote women’s rights in both nations.
