ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Islamabad hosted an orientation programme for Pakistani students selected for the Türkiye Scholarships 2026 programme on September 30, bringing together newly selected scholars, Türkiye Scholarships alumni and representatives of the embassy.

Türkiye Scholarships, administered by the Government of the Republic of Türkiye through the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), offers international students opportunities to pursue undergraduate, master’s and doctoral studies at leading universities across Türkiye.

In 2026, a total of 112 students from across Pakistan were selected for the programme. The orientation in Islamabad was organised for selected students from Islamabad and nearby areas to help them prepare for their upcoming academic journey to Türkiye.

The programme began with remarks by the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye, who congratulated the successful candidates and welcomed them to the Türkiye Scholarships community. The President of the Turkish Alumni Association also addressed the students, sharing insights from his own experience and highlighting the role of alumni in strengthening the longstanding friendship and educational links between Türkiye and Pakistan.

The Education Counsellor’s Office of the embassy later delivered an orientation presentation covering important aspects of the students’ transition from Pakistan to Türkiye. The briefing included preparations for departure, arrival and integration into university life, and key steps for a successful academic experience.

As part of the programme, the selected scholars introduced themselves and shared information about their academic backgrounds, as well as the Turkish universities and programmes in which they will pursue their studies.

The session provided an opportunity for the students to become acquainted with one another and connect with members of the Türkiye Scholarships community before their departure.

The embassy congratulated all successful candidates and expressed best wishes for their academic journey in Türkiye. The students were encouraged to serve as ambassadors of the friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye and to contribute to strengthening educational and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
