The Pakistani film “Umro Ayyar – A New Beginning” has been selected to represent Pakistan at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Film Festival in China, highlighting a significant achievement for the nation’s cinema industry. Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Muhammad Aurangzaib Khichi congratulated the filmmakers and praised the film as an important celebration of Pakistan’s rich culture, heritage, and storytelling traditions.
In his congratulatory message, Minister Khichi described the selection of “Umro Ayyar – A New Beginning” as “a proud moment for Pakistani cinema,” underscoring its significance both domestically and internationally. The minister emphasized that the film was more than mere entertainment, calling it an inspiring celebration of tradition, imagination, and Pakistani identity.
Minister Khichi further stated that through its innovative interpretation of traditional folklore, the film successfully showcases Pakistan’s cultural heritage and national pride on a prominent international platform. He added that being featured at the esteemed SCO Film Festival is indicative of Pakistan’s growing global presence in arts and cinema.
