UN Agencies Launch Drive to End Digital Violence

Sindh government and UN agencies launch UNiTE campaign to end digital violence against women and girls and strengthen online safety across Pakistan.

Today the Sindh Government partnered with UNFPA Pakistan, UNHCR Pakistan, UNICEF Pakistan, UN Women Pakistan, IOM Pakistan and United Nations – Pakistan to launch a joint UNiTE initiative to end digital violence against all women and girls. The coordinated effort underlines a shared commitment to tackle online abuse and protect vulnerable communities across Sindh.

The campaign focuses on preventing digital violence, improving response mechanisms and expanding support for survivors. By bringing multiple UN agencies together with provincial authorities, the initiative aims to strengthen reporting pathways and promote safer online spaces for women and girls in Pakistan.

Authorities and partner agencies emphasised the importance of collaboration between government, civil society and technology stakeholders to address the growing challenges of online harassment and exploitation. The joint UNiTE action seeks to raise awareness, mobilise resources and ensure that measures to prevent and respond to digital violence reach local communities throughout Sindh.
