HRDN’s leadership took part in a high-level strategic meeting organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to promote peace and social inclusion through sports. The organization was represented by Chief Executive Officer Robeela Bangash and Lifetime Member Waqar Haider Awan at the event, which brought together key stakeholders at the Mövenpick Hotel in Islamabad.
The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss a locally-developed Sports Technical Manual intended to support community cohesion and peaceful engagement through athletic activities. Participants also collaborated on outlining a roadmap for future Training of Trainers (TOTs) programs, aiming to build capacity among youth leaders and sports facilitators.
Through these initiatives, HRDN and UNODC seek to leverage the power of sports to foster social harmony, encourage youth involvement, and promote positive community relations. The meeting underscored the commitment of both organizations to using sports as an effective tool for peacebuilding and capacity development in the region.
