UNODC and Canada trained ASPs at the National Police Academy on Counter Terrorism, CFT and advanced analysis tools from 6–10 October 2025.

From 6–10 October 2025, UNODC Pakistan, with support from the Government of Canada, delivered a five-day specialised training on the Counter Terrorism Toolkit at the National Police Academy for under-training Assistant Superintendents of Police. The course aimed to sharpen investigative skills and legal awareness among junior officers preparing for frontline duties.

Participants enhanced their grasp of Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) and Pakistan’s P/CVE laws and practices, exploring how financial investigations and preventative measures work together to reduce the threat of violent extremism. The training emphasised practical approaches that can be applied in provincial and district-level policing.

A central element of the programme was hands-on instruction in advanced criminal analysis software, including i2 Analyst’s Notebook and Crime Wall by Social Links, giving trainees tools to visualise networks, analyse linkages and support evidence-based case building. The emphasis on technical proficiency reflected the growing role of digital and financial analysis in effective counter terrorism operations.

By combining legal frameworks with technical exercises, UNODC Pakistan sought to equip Assistant Superintendents with the competencies needed to lead investigations, coordinate with specialised units and contribute to stronger inter-agency responses to terrorism-related threats across Pakistan.
