WHO Pakistan, in collaboration with Gavi and the Government of Pakistan, visited health facilities in Terlai, Islamabad, to observe the ongoing efforts to protect children through vaccination programs. The visit included Dr. Sania Nishtar, CEO of Gavi, and focused on witnessing the critical work of frontline health workers at both a rural health centre and a local health house.
During the visit, the delegation saw how healthcare teams are ensuring that children in rural and underserved communities receive essential vaccines. The efforts are part of a broader initiative to increase immunization coverage and reduce preventable childhood illnesses and deaths.
Representatives from the organizations discussed the importance of vaccination in saving lives and highlighted the need to support healthcare workers who are delivering these vital services on the ground. The partnership aims to strengthen Pakistan’s healthcare system and ensure that lifesaving vaccines reach every child, regardless of their location.
The collaboration between WHO Pakistan, Gavi, and the Government of Pakistan reflects a strong commitment to improving child health and underscores the critical role of vaccines in safeguarding communities.
