VAWC Multan Hosts 16 Days Activism Event

VAWC Multan held a 16 Days of Activism event on Dec 1 with experts, Helpline1737 staff, Quran recitation, speeches and a banner signing for community solidarity.

On 1 December 2025 VAWC Multan organized an event as part of the 16 Days of Activism to end gender based violence, bringing together health, legal and banking representatives for awareness, recitation and community engagement.

Dr. Ahmed Ijaz Masood attended as chief guest. He served as Ex. Vice Chancellor and Professor of Clinical Oncology at Nishter Medical University, is Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Fatima Medical Center Multan and holds leadership roles as President SAARC Federation of Oncologist and President Cancer Society Multan.

MCB Bank Limited Multan staff invited guests to participate and the gathering included Ms. Sana Shahid (Unit Head MCB Multan), Ms. Aminah Javed (BM-MCB), Ms. Areeba Khan (Universal Services Officer), M. Arslan (Advocate High Court Multan), Mrs. Imtiaz Feroze (Assistant Director SBBHRCW Multan), Ms. Sammara (Manager Women Protection Center Multan) and Ms. Uzma Amin (Psychologist Drugs Rehabilitation Center Multan). Helpline 1737 staff and all VAWC staff also took part, reflecting a multi-sector response to gender based violence in the city.

The program was hosted by Ms. Komal, Social Mobilizer Helpline1737 VAWC Multan, with a welcome note from Ms. Silvat Shafi, Women Protection Officer and Mediation Officer at VAWC Multan. Proceedings opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by speeches and awareness notes from invited guests, and concluded with closing remarks by Ms. Hira Ahmed, Psychologist at VAWC Multan.

Participants captured photographs and joined a wall and banner signing activity to express solidarity and commitment to ending gender based violence. The event underscored VAWC Multan’s ongoing role in local prevention, awareness and survivor support efforts.
