Minister of State for Education Wajiha Akram Visits Government Schools in Rawal Town and Margalla Town, Orders Immediate Action on Key Issues
Islamabad: In consultation with Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Minister of State for Education Wajiha Akram spent a busy day visiting several educational institutions in Union Council Rawal Town and Margalla Town to review facilities, meet students and teachers, and issue on-spot directives for the resolution of long-standing school problems.
Accompanied by former Union Council Chairman Syed Zaheer Ahmed Shah and Director of Education, the minister visited Government Boys High School Rawal Dam, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Rawal Town, and Government Girls School Margalla Town. Upon arrival at Rawal Dam High School, she was warmly received by Principal Dr. Sham Kumar, Headmaster Chaudhry Sajid, faculty members, and students, who presented her with bouquets. The minister inspected both the primary and higher sections of the school.
During her visit, Wajiha Akram, along with Syed Zaheer Ahmed Shah, Dr. Sham Kumar, local representatives, and teachers, participated in a tree plantation drive with students. The principal and local representatives detailed several major issues, including the restoration of the playground, provision of a tractor for ground maintenance, construction of a mini sports complex, a boundary wall, security system, water filtration plant, water coolers, a multipurpose hall, a science club, a school bus, parking space, renovation, and installation of a new main gate.
The Minister of State for Education issued immediate directives to the Director General of Education and the Director of Schools for prompt resolution of these issues. Later, she visited Rawal Town Girls School with former Chairman Zaheer Ahmed Shah, where Principal Madam Rizwana Qadir and students welcomed her. The minister inspected the ongoing construction work and joined students in another plantation activity.
Following that, Wajiha Akram also visited Margalla Town Girls School, accompanied by former Chairman Syed Zaheer Ahmed Shah, Vice Chairman candidate Raja Inam Basar, and other local representatives. Principal Shumaila and students greeted the minister warmly. She toured the campus, reviewed the infrastructure, and planted trees alongside the school staff and students.
During the visit, Zaheer Ahmed Shah highlighted the long-pending construction of Margalla Town Boys Model College, which has been stalled for several years. In response, Minister Wajiha Akram personally visited the site and directed the concerned authorities to immediately remove all administrative hurdles and resume construction work on a priority basis.
Concluding her visit, Minister Wajiha Akram assured former Chairman Syed Zaheer Ahmed Shah that all government schools in Union Council Rawal Town and Margalla Town will have their issues resolved on an urgent and priority basis.
The minister was accompanied by several notable personalities, including Raja Inam Basar, Chaudhry Nasir, former MCI member Farzana Kausar, Raja Mehboob Elahi, Raja Naveed Ahmed, Chaudhry Muhammad Yameen, Haji Malik Muhammad Saleem, Farhat Satti, Mehdi Hassan Khan, Maqbool Shah, Saeed Akbar Khan, Malik Muhammad Afzal, Qadeer Janjua, Raja Junaid, minority councillor Kamran Pervaiz, Sheikh Rowail, and Raja Adnan, along with other PML-N local leaders and workers.
