**Pakistan Urges Global Community to Hold India Accountable to Indus Waters Treaty, Highlights Economic Progress**

Pakistan has called on the international community to ensure India’s full compliance with the Indus Waters Treaty, warning that water-related disputes pose significant risks to global peace. The call was made during a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, and World Bank Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa, Mr. Ousmane Dione.

During the discussion, the two sides agreed to deepen their development cooperation and set new goals for the Pakistan–World Bank partnership. Minister Ahsan Iqbal emphasized Pakistan’s positive economic performance, highlighting a marked reduction in inflation, a record surge in the stock market reaching over 130,000 points, and a rise in admissions to higher education institutions.

The minister also outlined the government’s ambitions to increase exports to $100 billion under the ‘Udaan Pakistan’ economic initiative. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to transitioning its economy towards an export-driven, technology-led model, underscoring the central role of the “5Es Framework” for sustainable development.

Additionally, Ahsan Iqbal reaffirmed the government’s dedication to tackling national challenges such as child malnutrition and the devastating impacts of climate change. He stressed that these issues require urgent and concerted action for the country’s sustainable future.

World Bank Vice President Ousmane Dione praised Pakistan’s “5Es Framework,” noting its alignment with the World Bank’s own six-point agenda for development. He assured continued cooperation to support Pakistan’s developmental vision and priorities.
