WWF-Pakistan and the Australian Government have reached a significant milestone, celebrating four years of partnership under the Australia–Pakistan Water Security Initiative. This collaboration aims to promote water-sensitive urban development across the country, highlighting the potential of integrated, nature-based solutions to address water challenges in Pakistani cities.

To mark this achievement, 34 key stakeholders from five provinces convened to discuss the vision of water-sensitive cities in Pakistan. The gathering provided a platform for government officials, experts, and community representatives to share insights and strategies on building urban water resilience. Discussions focused on innovative approaches that combine natural infrastructure with modern urban planning to improve water management, support sustainable growth, and reduce vulnerability to water scarcity and climate impacts.

Both WWF-Pakistan and the Australian Government reiterated their commitment to strengthening partnerships and fostering knowledge exchange. The initiative continues to emphasize collaborative action and shared learning as central to scaling up effective water security solutions for urban areas nationwide. As the partnership progresses, stakeholders aim to build on this foundation and advance towards a more water-secure future for communities across Pakistan.
