A representative from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Director of the United Arab Emirates’ Pakistan Assistance Program, Abdullah Khalifa Al-Ghafli, visited Tarlai’s Rural Health Center to participate alongside health workers vaccinating children against paralytic polio. This collaborative visit highlights the ongoing efforts to protect children in Pakistan from the life-threatening disease.
The vaccination drive, made possible through financial support from the United Arab Emirates, is part of a broader partnership with the WHO to eradicate polio in the country. Thanks to UAE funding and the committed involvement of frontline workers, millions of children in Pakistan continue to receive vital immunizations each year.
The initiative is supported by Pakistan’s Ministry of National Health Services and the UAE Embassy in Islamabad, reflecting a strong international commitment to eliminating polio and safeguarding child health across the region.
