Women Bazar promotes female entrepreneurship in Islamabad with cashless trading, price controls and modern facilities to support economic independence.

A special event at the Women’s Ramadan Sahulat Bazar in Sector G-11 marked International Women’s Day with a showcase of female-led businesses and services. The occasion, organised by the Capital Development Authority, Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad and the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aimed to highlight the business capabilities of women and open pathways to economic independence.

The Women Bazar introduced a completely cashless system in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and special arrangements were put in place to encourage women traders. A large number of women customers, traders and businesswomen participated, displaying products across stalls designated for women.

The bazar, organised in collaboration with the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will operate in Sector G-11 through Eid ul Fitr, giving women sustained access to a marketplace tailored to their needs. Vendors emphasised that goods are being sold at very reasonable prices to benefit women consumers while promoting small business growth.

Businesswoman Shazia Imran highlighted the availability of organic, natural, chemical free, fresh and healthy food items among other products at the Women Bazar, noting that such offerings meet growing demand for quality and safe produce from local entrepreneurs.

Rabia Farhan, Vice President of the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, described the special bazar as a welcome initiative for women on International Women’s Day and expressed gratitude to the CDA and MCI for creating new business opportunities that can help foster economic empowerment.

Customers voiced hope that the CDA will continue to organise similar initiatives regularly to support women in business. The CDA administration said a strict monitoring system for price control has been implemented at the Women’s Ramadan Bazar and that, under the direction of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the site is equipped with modern facilities for women consumers and traders.

The CDA added that establishing a dedicated bazar for women in the federal capital will serve as a milestone for the economic well being of women by combining affordable essentials with a platform for entrepreneurship and empowerment.
