**Margalla Hills Rangers Recognized for Service and Sacrifice on World Rangers Day**
On World Rangers Day, the Ministry of Climate Change honored the dedication and courage of the rangers tasked with protecting Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP) and its precious natural resources. In a ceremony held at Trail 5, officials and community members gathered to recognize these unsung heroes who safeguard forests, wildlife, and the park’s scenic beauty.
Rangers were commended for their tireless work, which includes patrolling in all weather conditions, preventing illegal activities such as poaching and logging, and responding swiftly to emergencies including wildfires. Their everyday bravery plays a crucial role in preserving the ecological balance of the MHNP and ensuring the safety of both wildlife and the park’s many visitors.
A particularly moving moment of the event was a special tribute to Ranger Safeer Shah, who lost his life in the line of duty after coming under fire while patrolling. His sacrifice was remembered with deep respect, highlighting the risks rangers take to protect the environment.
The Ministry called for public support and appreciation of these dedicated individuals, emphasizing the vital part they play in environmental protection and wildlife conservation. The celebration served as a reminder to support the ongoing efforts and resilience of Pakistan’s rangers, whose vigilance preserves the natural heritage for future generations.
