WWDC collaboration with AKDN, AKU and Quaid-e-Azam University explores social welfare training and outreach to uplift marginalized communities in Islamabad.

The Ministry of Human Rights Women Welfare and Development Centre hosted representatives from the Aga Khan Development Network, Aga Khan University and the National Institute of Psychology at Quaid-e-Azam University to explore WWDC collaboration with social welfare centres across Islamabad.

The delegation was briefed on WWDC’s community development efforts, outreach activities, training programmes and awareness initiatives aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of marginalized communities in the Islamabad Capital Territory. Officials discussed potential areas of cooperation, including coordinated training, shared outreach strategies and joint awareness campaigns to strengthen local service delivery.

Participants stressed the need for locally informed, evidence-based approaches and active community engagement to ensure interventions meet real needs on the ground. If advanced, the WWDC collaboration with AKDN, AKU and QAU could expand capacity at social welfare centres and widen support for vulnerable groups across the capital.
