WWF Business Center Inaugurated to Support Industrial Workers

Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain formally inaugurated the Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) Business Centre, constructed in Islamabad’s F-6 Markaz. The initiative represents an important milestone aimed at ensuring the welfare of industrial workers as well as achieving financial sustainability for the institution.

At the inauguration ceremony, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain was warmly welcomed by Secretary WWF Zulfiqar Ahmad. A comprehensive briefing was presented detailing the construction, objectives, benefits, and future plans regarding the Business Centre.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain congratulated the administration and entire team of WWF for successfully completing this significant project. Stressing the importance of dedicated government efforts, he said, “This project is evidence that when government institutions work with sincerity, vision, and effective leadership, both public service and financial self-sufficiency become achievable.”

Minister Hussain reaffirmed the government’s commitment to utilize the revenue generated from the Business Centre strictly for the education, healthcare, housing, and other welfare amenities of the workers and their families.

He particularly appreciated Secretary WWF Zulfiqar Ahmad’s exemplary leadership, emphasizing that WWF under his guidance is steadily progressing on the path of development, delivering commendable services for the benefit of the working class.

In his remarks, Secretary WWF Zulfiqar Ahmad explained that the Business Centre has been completed with complete transparency, maintaining high-quality standards, and within the pre-determined timeframe. He further highlighted that the project revenues are projected to cover its construction costs in just eleven months.

Secretary Ahmad expressed confidence that, under the current leadership and prevailing government policies, the Workers Welfare Fund would transform into a profitable institution by 2030, directly benefiting industrial workers and their families.

Additionally, he shared updates on the government’s digitalization efforts carried out by WWF, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology. A new agreement was reached enabling workers and their families to conveniently track their application status online through a simple click.

The ceremony concluded with Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain presenting appreciation shields to Secretary Zulfiqar Ahmad and other senior officials of WWF’s Works Department in recognition of their dedicated contributions. Senior officers of WWF attended the ceremony.
