Youth Council Pakistan Hosts International Reception

Youth Council Pakistan hosted an international parliamentary reception in Islamabad, honoring global leaders and promoting youth diplomacy and climate justice.

The Youth Council Pakistan convened an International Parliamentary and Diplomatic Reception in Islamabad, bringing together young leaders, diplomats and parliamentarians to advance youth-driven dialogue on global issues. The gathering emphasised youth diplomacy, climate justice and stronger bilateral ties through increased youth exchanges.

The Council presented its Human Rights Award to His Excellency Barrister Imran Hussain, Member of the British Parliament, recognising his advocacy for human rights, justice and the dignity of oppressed communities, including work related to Kashmir and Palestine. On accepting the honour MP Imran Hussain said ‘I am deeply honoured to receive this award. True peace and prosperity are built on the foundations of justice and universal human rights. Engaging the energy and vision of youth is not an option but a necessity for resolving the great challenges of our time, from climate justice to geopolitical strife. I commend The Youth Council Pakistan for its vital role in fostering this essential youth diplomacy.’

The reception also celebrated emerging and established leaders with Young Leader Awards presented to Sajid Rafique, Vice President of The Youth Council Pakistan; Councillor Kamran Hussain of Bradford, UK; and social activist Mujeeb Achakzai. Business Leader Awards were conferred upon Malik Ad, Chaudhary Shah Nawaz Gondal, Shah Wali Khan, Asfandyar Khan and Malik Khan Muhammad in recognition of entrepreneurial excellence and support for youth initiatives.

President Muhammad Shehzad Khan of The Youth Council Pakistan affirmed the organisation’s focus on empowering young voices and building actionable pathways for sustainable peace and development. He said ‘Tonight underscores our unwavering commitment to empowering young voices as the foremost architects of our shared future. By strengthening bilateral relations through youth exchanges and placing climate justice at the heart of the dialogue, we are investing in sustainable peace and development. This reception is a testament to the power of youth diplomacy in bridging divides and creating actionable pathways for a just world.’

The delegation included key Directors and Executive Members of The Youth Council Pakistan who facilitated the proceedings and helped shape the event’s agenda, reflecting the Council’s continued role in amplifying youth leadership on national and international platforms.
