The COP in My City Youth for Climate 2025 Grand Finale, organised by the Ministry of Climate Change, Government of Pakistan in partnership with UNICEF, brought together passionate young Pakistanis to showcase practical ideas for a greener, more resilient future.
More than 2,200 young people participated in capacity-building sessions, regional conclaves and policy dialogues designed to strengthen advocacy and climate innovation skills. Participants exchanged locally driven solutions, honed their ability to influence policy and built networks to carry climate action from communities to decision-makers.
The Youth for Climate programme emphasised empowering youth as active stakeholders in national climate conversations. Through interactive workshops and regional events, attendees gained tools to develop resilient projects and present evidence-based proposals to authorities and civil society partners.
Four outstanding young finalists were selected to join the official Pakistan delegation at COP30 in Belém, Brazil. Their participation will elevate Pakistani youth perspectives on the global stage and highlight homegrown solutions born from community-level initiatives and the Youth for Climate platform.
Organisers said the event aimed to create lasting opportunities for youth engagement in climate policy and innovation, ensuring that the next generation can both contribute to and shape Pakistan’s climate resilience strategies.
