UN Women Pakistan, in collaboration with the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, recently organized an educational visit for young climate activists to the Korangi Creek Mangrove Forest in Karachi. This initiative, part of the Youth Climate Action Initiative, aimed to provide participants with firsthand exposure to the importance of environmental conservation.
During the visit, the youth learned about the crucial role mangrove forests play in protecting coastal regions from erosion and extreme weather. They observed how mangroves act as natural barriers and contribute to climate resilience, showcasing nature-based solutions for environmental challenges.
The experience was designed to encourage environmental stewardship and empower young people to take active roles in securing a greener and more resilient future for Pakistan. By engaging with real-world climate solutions, these young activists gained valuable knowledge and inspiration to further their efforts in combating climate change.
