The Young Climate Justice Ambassador Academy organised a vibrant tree plantation drive at Islamabad Model School for Girls, where students took an active role in planting saplings to promote environmental protection. The event used the tree plantation campaign to highlight the impacts of climate change and the importance of green cover for urban resilience.
Farzana Kausar, focal person for the Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth and Women Development Programme, addressed the gathering and urged younger generations to take part in environment-friendly activities. She emphasised that involving youth in tree plantation and conservation efforts is essential to building a healthier and greener Pakistan.
Brigadier Muhammad Aslam Khan, President of RDF, also participated and planted a sapling to demonstrate institutional commitment to the cause. He reiterated RDF’s support for initiatives that engage youth in practical climate action and encouraged schools to sustain such programmes.
Participants resolved to continue tree plantation efforts and to broaden the campaign to other educational institutions. The drive received praise from students, teachers and the local community, with organisers stressing that ongoing youth engagement is key to long-term environmental stewardship.
