Syed Zeeshan Naqvi, Prime Minister’s Focal Person for the Youth Program, joined a demonstration in support of Palestine outside the United Nations General Assembly, where representatives from several countries also gathered to express solidarity.
Zeeshan Naqvi told the crowd that the international community must take practical steps to halt what he described as terrorist acts by Israel, and he called for decisive action to protect civilians in Gaza. He went as far as saying that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be declared a terrorist in light of the reported violence and alleged genocide in Gaza.
Speaking on Pakistan’s stance, Zeeshan Naqvi said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will raise the issue forcefully during the General Assembly. He also noted that Muslim leaders have urged President Trump to press for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further civilian suffering.
Participants chanted strong slogans against Israel and demanded an immediate ceasefire, unimpeded access to food and humanitarian supplies, and the prompt withdrawal of Israeli forces. The demonstration reflected a wider call for cohesive Muslim leadership to act together to stop the violence.
Zeeshan Naqvi framed his presence as part of Pakistan’s broader effort to amplify concerns at the UN and on the international stage, urging partners to convert words of concern into meaningful measures that protect civilians and restore peace.
