Pakistan has announced a major partnership with Chinese tech giant ZTE, aiming to empower the country’s youth with advanced IT skills and accelerate its transformation into a knowledge-based economy. This landmark collaboration was established during an official state visit to China.

As part of the agreement, ZTE will launch a comprehensive, nationwide training program in Pakistan designed to equip young people with future-oriented digital skills. The initiative is expected to provide hands-on, practical education in modern technologies, enabling Pakistani youth to compete in the global digital landscape.

Further cementing this collaboration, ZTE will set up its eighth global IT Skills Training Center in Pakistan. This facility will serve as a hub for cutting-edge training, enhancing job prospects and technical expertise among the country’s young talent.

Highlighting the significance of the event, Federal Minister for Planning Professor Ahsan Iqbal participated in ZTE’s 40th anniversary celebration by cutting a commemorative cake and touring the company’s newly inaugurated global headquarters. He was recognized as the first international guest to visit the headquarters, where he explored ZTE’s state-of-the-art showroom and witnessed its latest products driven by innovative technologies.

The formal launch of this partnership will take place during an upcoming official visit by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to China. This collaboration marks a new phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and exemplifies the deepening ties between the two nations, with a strong focus on technology, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.

With this initiative, Pakistani officials and tech leaders are optimistic that the country is set to take off into a digital future, ushering in new opportunities for economic growth and technological advancement.
