The recent floods in Pakistan have caused massive devastation, displacing millions, destroying homes and crops, and turning lives upside down across affected provinces.
In Kasur, one of the hardest-hit districts of Punjab province, nearly 4.7 million people have been affected by the Kasur floods. UNDP in Pakistan Resident Representative Dr. Samuel Rizk joined local partners to deliver emergency food relief to families of all faiths in Ganda Singh Wala village, ensuring immediate support reaches those most in need.
Relief is only the first step. Alongside government authorities and local partners, UNDP is supporting recovery and resilience efforts with a strong focus on the most vulnerable households, aiming to rebuild livelihoods, protect food security, and strengthen community preparedness against future shocks.
Emergency food assistance in Kasur is being complemented by coordinated planning for longer-term recovery so that communities can move from relief to restoration and greater resilience for a safer, more prepared Pakistan.
