The Embassy of Japan in Pakistan welcomed Japanese language students from NUML Islamabad for a Japan cultural exchange aimed at promoting mutual understanding and youth engagement.
The day-long programme was organised into three interactive sessions. The first session introduced traditional Japanese attire with a demonstration on how to wear a yukata, giving students the chance to try the garment and learn about its cultural context.
The second session provided hands-on experience in Japanese calligraphy, where participants practised writing Kanji under instructor guidance and explored brush techniques and character composition.
The final session focused on chopstick etiquette and included a friendly skills challenge that ended in a mini-tournament, with commemorative gifts presented to top performers.
organisers said the Japan cultural exchange reflects the embassy’s commitment to strengthening people-to-people ties between Japan and Pakistan. Students from NUML Islamabad expressed enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity to experience Japanese culture in a practical, engaging setting.
Events like this help bridge classroom language study and cultural practice in Islamabad, supporting young learners while fostering deeper bilateral connections between the two countries.
