Turkish delegation visits Parliament House and Gali-e-Dastoor in Islamabad for briefings on Pakistan's parliamentary system and a Senate Museum tour.

A nine-member Turkish delegation visited Parliament House and Gali-e-Dastoor in Islamabad on 9 October 2025, receiving a comprehensive briefing from Senate Secretariat officials on Pakistan’s parliamentary system, the lawmaking process and the role of the upper house. The delegation engaged closely with parliamentary staff and showed keen interest in institutional procedures and legislative practices.

Members of the Turkish delegation toured the Senate Museum where they watched a documentary detailing Pakistan’s democratic history and parliamentary traditions. The visitors observed an ongoing sitting in the Senate Hall and discussed aspects of parliamentary procedure with officials, underlining their appreciation for the transparency and historical continuity of the institution.

The delegation held a meeting with Senator Noorul Haq Qadri to discuss Pakistan-Turkey relations, parliamentary cooperation, regional developments and other matters of mutual interest. Senator Qadri highlighted the religious, cultural and historical bonds between the two countries and noted the consistent support they have offered each other on international and regional platforms.

At Gali-e-Dastoor the Turkish delegation was briefed on Pakistan’s constitutional and democratic evolution, including the stages of the constitution’s formation and the parliament’s historical role. Delegates examined archival photographs, documents and memorial items with evident interest and asked detailed questions about key milestones in Pakistan’s parliamentary history.

The Turkish delegation thanked the Senate Secretariat for its hospitality, the informative briefings and the guided tour of the museum and Gali-e-Dastoor, praising Pakistan’s democratic traditions and the preservation of parliamentary heritage. The visit reinforced ongoing parliamentary ties and opened avenues for further exchanges between legislative bodies.
