Transparency International Pakistan partnered with the Sindh Green Foundation to host a seminar on Right to Information in District Sanghar, bringing together community members, representatives from civil society organisations, journalists, youth and government officers from multiple departments.
The session deepened participant understanding of the Sindh Transparency and Right to Information Act 2016 and emphasised practical steps citizens can take to use the Right to Information effectively. Attendees received guidance on how to prepare and submit RTI requests and learned about the kinds of public records and procedures covered under the law.
Expert speakers led the seminar and encouraged constructive exchange between civil society and government officials, creating space for questions and clarifications that can strengthen civic engagement. The event highlighted how the Right to Information can be used by ordinary citizens to seek accountability and participate more fully in local governance.
Organisers said the Sanghar seminar aimed to equip residents with the skills and confidence to apply the Sindh Transparency and Right to Information Act 2016 in everyday civic matters, reinforcing the idea that informed citizens are essential to improving transparency and public service delivery in Sindh.
