Over 200 women lawyers met in Peshawar to confront Tech-Facilitated Violence, backed by the EU Deliver Justice Project and UNDP in Pakistan.

More than 200 women lawyers from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa convened in Peshawar for the fifth annual Women Lawyers Conference to confront the rising problem of Tech-Facilitated Violence. Funded by the European Union in Pakistan under the Deliver Justice Project and hosted by UNDP in Pakistan together with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy, the gathering focused on strengthening the justice sector response as digital harms grow.

Participants explored how courts, bar councils and legal practitioners can adapt to new forms of abuse that unfold online, considering the procedural and technological challenges that survivors face when seeking remedies. The conference emphasised practical collaboration between institutions to build capacity and improve access to justice in the face of Tech-Facilitated Violence.

Delegates underlined a shared commitment to ensure that justice evolves with the digital age and that legal protections keep pace with technology, so no survivor is left behind. The event highlighted the role of women lawyers in shaping local and national responses to TFGBV and advancing safer digital spaces within Pakistan.
