Sweden’s support for strengthening local humanitarian partners was visible as Ambassador Alex joined the opening of a two-day Capacity Building Workshop organized by Action Against Hunger (ACF) Pakistan and supported by Sweden. The event brought together local organisations and practitioners focused on improving response skills and coordination across communities in Pakistan.
In her remarks the ambassador emphasised the power of local action and the need to invest in local skills and leadership to respond effectively to humanitarian crises. She underlined that sustained investment in local leadership and technical capacity ensures quicker, more appropriate aid delivery and builds resilience within affected communities.
Organisers and participants noted that this kind of targeted capacity building helps create a more sustainable, community-driven humanitarian response. By prioritising local leadership and partnerships, Sweden and ACF Pakistan aim to strengthen local institutions so they can lead recovery and preparedness efforts across Pakistan.
